We are seeking to appoint a conscientious and reliable Assistant Site Manager to join our team. Candidates will assist with a range of grounds and maintenance tasks as well as supporting wider school operations.
Candidates will support the Site Manager in delivering day-to-day maintenance, ensuring the smooth running of the school and the consistent upkeep of high standards.
Hours, Salary & Benefits:
Contract: Full time, year-round, permanent.
Salary: £27,580 pa
Start Date: June 2026

Main Responsibilities:
9. Assist with the day to day running of the school site and facilities.
10. Carry out improvement and maintenance works such as repairs to furniture, painting and decorating, erecting notice boards.
11. Assist with the general site health and safety and compliance checks, including testing of ladders, emergency lighting, alarms, water temperature testing, hazard identification and recording.
12. Assist in opening/locking of the school and maintaining the security of buildings at all times.
13. Assist in the preparation of facilities for a varied programme of school activities and events.
14. Carry out a planned maintenance programme and special projects during school holidays as discussed with the Site Manager.
15. Assist with the general upkeep of the grounds, including mowing of grass areas, weeding, pruning and leaf clearance.
16. To ensure the highest level of cleanliness is maintained throughout the schools on a daily basis, manage reactive cleaning of the school following spillages and accidents, replenish disposable items across the school including toilet rolls, hand towels etc.
17. Ensure that waste is correctly disposed.
18. Ensure all equipment, furniture and materials are stored safely and securely to prevent unauthorised access and potential accidents/misuse.
19. To attend training sessions as and when required to ensure compliance with Health and Safety, Child Protection, Fire Awareness and other training programmes as directed.
Person Specficiation:
20. Polite, professional and friendly at all times with pupils and colleagues.
21. A ‘can do’ flexible attitude and willingness to assist with other duties as required.
22. Reliable, punctual and trustworthy.
23. Have the ability to manage their own time effectively and to prioritise work.
24. DIY and maintenance skills (a trade skill would be desirable)
25. Experience in Health and Safety.
26. Good general level of fitness and be able to lift and carry.
