Department of Social Policy and Intervention, 32 Wellington Square, Oxford, OX1 2ER About the role The Department of Social Policy & Intervention is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Data Manager to work on our flagship Global Parenting Initiative (GPI). The GPI is a five-year, multi-million pound, international collaboration of universities, foundations, and implementing partners, with the bold aim of providing access to free, evidence-based, playful parenting support to every parent, everywhere, equipping them with the knowledge and tools to help their children realise their learning potential and to prevent child sexual abuse, exploitation, and family violence. The Senior Data Manager role holds a core supportive position within the GPI initiative and provides an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic, international team, dedicated to improving the lives of children across the globe. The Senior Data Manager will focus on building and management of multiple databases, creating and transforming datasets and coordinating user access in close collaboration with senior academic and operational colleagues at Oxford and partner institutions. The role may also require the development of data management plans. Funds supporting this project are provided by the LEGO Foundation. About you You have experience of working in a similar role, preferably with research projects or multiple international projects in any sector overseeing secure data management, including server maintenance with advanced IT skills, particularly Excel, and a working knowledge of statistical software, preferably STATA and R. You will have expertise in open science practices and experience building collaborative relationships in diverse contexts, preferably in low- and middle-income countries, excellent intercultural communication skills and the ability to build collaborative relationships. The Department of Social Policy and Intervention holds a Bronze Athena Swan Award which demonstrates our commitment towards advancement of gender equality in higher education and research institutions: equal opportunities, representation and success for all. The Department is committed to fostering an environment of equality, diversity, and inclusion. Our family-friendly ethos allows for hours to be worked flexibly to complement caring responsibilities. Applications are particularly welcome from ethnic minority candidates.
