Our client is looking for a hands‑on, reliable HGV Technician to join their team and keep their HGV fleet safe, efficient, and road‑ready in Beenham (near Reading).

Your Role
You will join the team to deliver a high‑quality, reliable, and cost‑effective vehicle maintenance service. You’ll inspect, repair, and perform MOTs on a diverse fleet of vehicles, ensuring all work meets manufacturer standards and complies with current legislation.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct thorough HGV inspections, repairs, and warranty work to ensure vehicles are road‑ready, MOT‑compliant, and meet supplier and Ministry standards.
* Diagnose faults and complete repairs on hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
* Complete service reports, paperwork, and electronic job sheets in line with company procedures.
* Maintain a safe and clean working environment, following all health & safety regulations and reporting incidents or near‑misses.
* Undertake required training to maintain up‑to‑date technical and compliance knowledge.
* Mentor and support apprentice technicians.
* Provide roadside assistance for breakdowns as required.
* Offer flexibility to support operations at other depots when needed.
* Carry out additional duties or projects as directed by your manager or supervisor.
Required Qualifications
* City & Guilds Parts 1, 2 & 3, NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in HGV maintenance preferred, or 10+ years’ relevant hands‑on experience.
* Strong understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrics, with excellent mechanical and technical skills.
* Good knowledge of current health & safety regulations.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work independently.
* Flexibility to cover other sites when required.
* Must meet the role’s weight limit requirement (140kg maximum) for working at height in safety equipment.
Desired Qualifications
* HGV licence (Class 2 minimum) and digital tachograph card desirable.
* Valid Driver CPC and 35 hours’ CPC training desirable.

Working Hours
