Accounts Payable Specialist

Salary: £28,000 – £32,000
Are you an experienced Accounts Payable professional looking to join a dynamic, fast‑paced finance team? Our client is seeking a highly organised and detail‑driven Accounts Payable Specialist to take ownership of invoice processing, supplier management, and payment operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Process and verify supplier invoices in line with company policies, ensuring timely approval and payment.
* Manage and maintain accurate supplier records, including payment terms, contact details and VAT information.
* Prepare and execute supplier payments (BACS, CHAPS and other electronic methods).
* Reconcile accounts payable transactions, ensuring supplier balances are accurate and discrepancies are resolved promptly.
* Handle supplier queries regarding payments and outstanding invoices professionally and efficiently.
* Collaborate with finance and wider business teams to resolve issues related to purchase orders, expenses and invoicing discrepancies.
* Support the finance team with month‑end deadlines and contribute to accurate financial reporting.
Requirements
* Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Clerk, Accounts Payable Specialist, or similar finance role.
* Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes and general accounting principles.
* Proficiency using accounting software and strong skills in Microsoft Excel.
* Excellent organisational and time‑management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail when processing financial transactions.
* Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment and adapt to evolving business needs.
