The Role
Our client a leading Lloyd's syndicate is currently seeking a Delegated Authorities Manager to join the DUA team on a 6 months Fixed Term Contract basis (initially). Your main focus during this period would be on the due diligence process thus experience/strengths in this area would be advantageous. Amongst other things you will ensure the Syndicate operates an effective monitoring and supervision control framework to the syndicate’s portfolio of delegated underwriting contracts. This position is suited to someone who can offer immediate expertise during a busy phase in the cycle.
Key reasonability's
* Oversee the approval process for new delegated arrangements to both Lloyd’s and company procedures, regulatory requirements and best practices.
* Manage the annual due diligence process and the ongoing monitoring and oversight of existing Coverholders, Binding Authorities and DCAs. Allocate the delegated arrangements to DA Analysts, ensuring a balanced distribution and maintain oversight so that they are managed in line with company procedures, regulatory requirements and best practices.
* Manage the audit process for all delegated arrangements. Set the annual audit plan, be the central contact point for audit queries and ensure that a coordinated approach is adopted between due diligence and audit when managing delegated arrangements.
* Carry out quality control assessments of DA Analyst tasks, ensuring a high standard of completion and consistency across the business.
* Oversee the EPI process ensuring adherence to the Syndicate’s procedures.
* Liaise with the Operations Team on bordereaux receipt, timeliness and data quality issues, ensuring that feedback is provided to Coverholders.
* Provide the business with delegated authority related support, advice and guidance, ensuring that a high level and collaborative service is delivered to key areas of the business.
* Assist other members of the Delegated Authorities team with various tasks as and when required to do so.

The successful candidate will:
* Have relevant work experience gained in the London insurance market specifically within delegated authorities (and the due diligence process).
* Have a good understanding of Lloyd’s Delegated Authority systems.
* Be computer literate, they should have the ability to develop a full understanding and capability of in-house and MS systems.
* Have the ability to work on own initiative and as part of the team.
* Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues at all levels within the organisation. Assertive but pragmatic in the conduct of the role with the ability to see the wider business context.
* Good people management skills and the ability to oversee delegation of work.
* Have well developed communication and stakeholder management skills.
