About Us
Equitas Staffing is a specialist education staffing agency supporting secondary schools with high-quality, reliable classroom staff. We work in close partnership with schools to ensure continuity of learning during teacher absence, providing skilled and professional Secondary Cover Teachers who can confidently step into the classroom and maintain high standards across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
The Role
We are seeking enthusiastic and adaptable Secondary Cover Teachers to work across a range of subjects in secondary school settings. This role involves delivering pre-planned lessons, maintaining strong classroom management, and ensuring pupils remain engaged and supported throughout the school day.

Key Responsibilities
• Deliver pre-planned lessons across a range of secondary subjects
• Create a positive, focused and inclusive learning environment
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
• Adapt teaching approaches to meet the needs of all learners
• Mark and provide feedback in line with school expectations
• Support pupils’ academic progress and wellbeing
• Follow school safeguarding, health and safety procedures
• Provide clear handover feedback to subject teachers or senior leaders
Qualifications and Experience
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
• Experience teaching within a UK secondary school setting
• Strong classroom management skills
• Sound knowledge of the secondary national curriculum in your subject area
• Clear communication and strong organisational skills
• Professional, reliable and adaptable approach
• Commitment to safeguarding and pupil welfare
