On behalf of Rolls-Royce, AMS are currently recruiting for a SSG Forklift Truck Driver for their Production Test Facility in Derby, on initial12- month contract working on 7-day shift patterns. Job description - the role Join the dynamic support service group at Rolls-Royces state-of-the-art Production Test Facility (PTF), supporting the building and testing of world-class aero engines. As an SSG Forklift Truck Driver, youll play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of materials, tooling, and engine components across the site. As a SSG Forklift Truck Driver you will be responsible for: Operate counterbalance forklift trucks (up to 10 tonnes) to transport kitting hardware from stores to shop. Remove and dispose of waste packaging from shop to stores. Perform blade weighing, operate wash tanks, and support spray booth activities (including spraying rotas). Use IT systems for tracking and reporting tasks. Occasionally drive a small lorry or pickup truck to collect tooling from external locations. Management of on-site tooling storage. This includes kitting sets of tooling prior to engine induction and providing a supply of any tools that are required ad-hoc throughout strip, repair and build. Coordination and completion of logistics related tasks to support in-shop engine services, including engine and non-module wash. General assistance to the Operations team to enable engine tasks to be completed efficiently including participation in loading/unloading, movement and bagging of engines including preservation checks. Support the movement of engines and material internally and externally as required. As well as be accountable for ensuring ERP compliance for material and tooling. Ensure all material or logistic risks that have potential to impact delivery are identified, prioritised, and escalated, where appropriate, within the wider organisation. Supporting booking in, picking, storage, and counting of material on site; as well as supporting functional improvement activities. What we require from the candidate: Manual handling essential due to the nature of the job; with good knowledge of quality tools, systems, and procedures. Good interpersonal and problem-solving skills, with experience of working in a demanding customer focused environment. Able to demonstrate a flexible and adaptable mind-set. Valid counterbalance forklift license (up to 10 tonnes) Clean UK driving license (essential for occasional vehicle use). Comfortable with basic IT systems and digital tools. Willingness to learn new processes and work flexibly across departments. Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment is a plus.
