Position Overview
STS Aviation Services is rapidly growing, and we are looking for new team members to be part of our journey as the leading UK MRO.
This is an exciting time to join the STS Aviation Services business and be part of our growing base maintenance operations in Birmingham. As the Check Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management and delivery of the allocated maintenance inputs and for retaining oversight of the maintenance tasks to ensure regulatory compliance.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
* Deliver allocated maintenance inputs and projects to schedule
* Assist the Base Maintenance Management team as required
* Line management of all staff within their area of responsibility
* Issue certificates of release to service for the specific aircraft type within the scope of their QA044 Staff Authorisation Document
* Allocate tasks and responsibilities within their work area
* Maintain a log of progress against tasks
* Provide and deliver daily production briefings
* Update senior management as required
* Develop solutions to deliver maintenance within budget constraints
* Ensure a daily progress report is issued for aircraft under maintenance
* Ensure the technical integrity of all work carried out under their control
* Manage conduct and punctuality of all staff within their responsibility
* Maintain the allocated work area to high standards of cleanliness
* Carry out husbandry and tool audits, recording the results
* Conduct formal appraisals of hangar staff and advise on training and development
* Ensure health and safety 'duty of care' procedures are followed
* Perform DQS self-audits and coordinate responses
* Support quality audits and closure plans
* Assist in creating and managing budgets as required
Skills & Experience Requirements
* Category B licensed engineers must hold C certification by aircraft type
* Must hold 737 Type Ratings
* Minimum of 5 years of Base Maintenance experience as a B1 and/or B2 certifying engineer
* Legal right to work in the UK
* Good knowledge of Part 145 Aviation Legislation
* Flexible and adaptable in a fast-changing environment
* Excellent communication, management, and interpersonal skills
