PMO Specialist (Governance & Compliance)

Role Overview
As a Project Management Office (PMO) Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting business innovation, project delivery, compliance improvements, and quality assurance across the Unsworth Group. Reporting to the PMCO Manager, you will help shape how we work, elevate performance standards, and champion continuous improvement throughout the business.
What You’ll Do
Project Management
* Support the PMCO Manager on key projects aligned with business objectives and compliance requirements.
* Manage projects from conception through to stakeholder sign‑off, driving new business initiatives and improvements.
* Present project findings, risks, and recommendations.
* Collaborate across departments to ensure alignment with project goals.
Business Process Improvement
* Develop and present new initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and performance.
* Support Business Performance Management through SOPs, KPIs, reporting frameworks, and dashboards.
* Coordinate cross‑functional teams to identify process improvements and define requirements.
* Train and mentor teams on new processes and technologies.
* Review existing procedures, identifying gaps and improvement opportunities.
Quality Management
* Conduct internal quality audits in line with our Quality Management System.
* Perform quality assurance checks to ensure outputs meet company standards before sign‑off.
* Support compliance performance and process adherence across the business.
Compliance
* Audit and maintain company compliance procedures.
* Support operational excellence through continuous compliance improvement.
* Manage AEO authorisation documentation and updates.
* Perform job‑level audits across exports, dangerous goods, customs, and other operational areas.
* Provide compliance support across the entire Unsworth Group.
What We Are Looking For
* Experience in a PMO or similar role supporting project governance and controls
* Experience with project management tools or applications.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Prior knowledge of compliance within the logistics or related industry.
* A proactive, analytical approach to problem‑solving.
* Ability to collaborate cross‑functionally and work with multiple stakeholders.
* Flexibility to travel within the UK as required.
