Summary
We are looking for a Finance Controller to take ownership the day to day finances of the Group, including full responsibility for the monthly and annual reporting process in a £130m plus turnover business. Managing the finance team to ensure accurate and timely reporting, whilst driving improvements to shorten the monthly reporting timeframe. The company is looking to improve its use of its newly installed ERP system and implementation of new software solutions to drive automation and free up capacity for review and analysis. The role will report directly into the Group Finance Director.
Duties and responsibilities
1. Lead and manage the complete monthly reporting cycle, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of management accounts
2. Review, streamline, and enhance financial processes and controls to improve efficiency and reporting quality
3. Challenge all existing processes with the aim of continuous improvement and identify automation opportunities
4. Engage in team and personal development, creating motivated and collaborative culture
Qualifications and Experience
5. Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with appropriate post qualification to be able to demonstrate the attributes for the role
6. Strong and proven experience in monthly reporting, within a company delivering final monthly management accounts within tight timeframes
7. Experience of managing a team and continuously developing the team
8. Demonstrable ability to lead, influence and take team through a change project
9. Experience of using Microsoft Business Central as main ERP system preferable but not essential

15. The ability to manage both upward and downward, ensuring clear communication, timely escalation of issues, and effective alignment between senior leadership expectations and the day-to-day work of the finance team
16. Highly proficient in Excel, with the capability and confidence to independently problem solve and perform accurate analysis
Role
The role is fully office based. There is no option for remote or hybrid working on a regular basis. All the team reporting into this role work in the office, in one location. This fosters stronger collaboration, culture and better performance.
Salary: £80-85k depending on experience.
Pension: Match up to 5% employer contributions rising to 8% after 3 years
Holiday:25 days rising to 30 after 3 years.
Bonus: A week pay at Christmas subject to company performance and a turkey!
Life Assurance: 3 x annual salary
Healthcare: 50% contribution
