Mechanical Engineer - 12 Month FTC Salary: Up to £45,000 £3,600 Car Allowance Location: LN4 and LN5 Contract: 12-Month Fixed Term Are you a skilled Mechanical Engineer looking for a rewarding role supporting the UK Defence estate? Hays is recruiting for a Mechanical / Petroleum Engineer to deliver safe, compliant and efficient maintenance and project work across a major Defence site. This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll play a key part in ensuring operational delivery meets the highest standards of safety and performance. What you'll do Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on mechanical and petroleum systems. Support project delivery and ensure works are completed safely and on time. Diagnose faults and implement effective solutions. Work collaboratively with site teams and contractors to maintain compliance. Ensure accurate documentation of works and adherence to safety standards. Contribute to improvements and carbon reduction initiatives where possible. What we're looking for Minimum Level 3 qualification in Mechanical or Petroleum Engineering (Level 2 will not be considered). Strong hands-on experience in maintenance and repair of mechanical/petroleum systems. Knowledge of Health & Safety standards and safe working practices. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. (Authorised Person tickets are desirable but not essential for this role.)
