EY is looking for an Audit Manager to lead our UKI Assurance team across the North. This role offers the opportunity to work with a globally connected, diverse alumni network and to build a career as unique as you are.
Location focus: Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle.
Key Responsibilities
* Effectively lead fieldwork and manage the audit process, appropriately considering audit risk and accounting technical matters.
* Engage clients and provide authoritative advice and professionalism throughout transactions.
* Understand clients’ unique ambitions and needs, referring them to colleagues in other areas where relevant to broaden relationships.
* Continuously develop your knowledge of current market trends and share this knowledge to support junior colleagues.
* Supervise day‑to‑day team operations.
* Manage performance and coach junior colleagues throughout the performance year.

You should be a credible advisor who influences clients and engagement teams on resolutions that impact entire industries and be comfortable with career challenges that take you into new professional territory.
Qualifications
* Experience planning, executing, and reporting on multiple external audits in a managerial capacity.
* Fully qualified as a chartered accountant (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CA, ICAS, ICAEW or international equivalent).
* Non‑financial services industry exposure.
* Project and people‑management experience.
* Provide evidence of qualification status and upload your certificate at the point of application.
Ideal Additional Experience
* Sector experience in one or more of the following: Pharmaceutical, Retail, Automotive, Transportation, Manufacturing, Real Estate, Hospitality, Construction, Energy, Media, Technology, Telecom, Government & Public Sector, Oil, Gas & Utilities, Products & Services.
* Previous professional experience at manager level or equivalent.
* Knowledge of current market issues in the UK.
* Experience using SOX 404 and applying UK\,GAAP and IFRS.
* Expertise using GAM to perform an assurance engagement in compliance with auditing standards.
* A solution‑based approach to problem‑solving and a collaborative approach to management.
* Flexibility to constantly learn and adapt in a fast‑paced environment.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
