Wood is currently recruiting for Technical Delivery Lead Engineers responsible for C&I, F&G, TUV, Cyber and Automation, to support a high-profile client across projects within the UK. The Technical Delivery Lead Engineer will join our Systems Integration team within our Digital Consulting business. There is a requirement for hybrid working with 3 days per week being based out of either Aberdeen, Glasgow, Stockton or Staines. There will also be a requirement to visit UK based client sites as and when required. Please note applicants must be able to pass HMG Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check. LI-Hybrid The Role We are currently seeking Technical Delivery Lead Engineers responsible for Controls and Instrumentation (C&I), Fire and Gas (F&G), TUV, Automation & Cyber secuirty for key projects within a framework delivering brownfield EPCm upgrades to the automation, controls and cyber security systems. The Lead Engineer will operate within the core project team, working closely with the engineering team to ensure seamless delivery. They will provide guidance and oversight to discipline Engineers, managing responsibilities and delegating tasks effectively. The key responsibilities of the role will include delegating tasks, managing the delivery and working with the Project Controls team to maintain control and achieve project objectives. Given the prominence of the role in our delivery and level of responsibility and accountability experience in project alignment, performance measurement, risk mitigation, decision-making, team motivation and enhanced project reporting are required. Further benefits include a generous contributory pension scheme, private medical cover, 4x base salary life insurance; all of these and more that can be adapted to suit your own lifestyle Commitment to continued professional development ; development plans that are tailored to your individual needs and interests Global connections ; join experts around the world who are at the leading edge of our industry, shaping the standards of our profession Energy Transition Academy ; join a community of experts sharing your knowledge and gaining more exposure to a variety of existing and emerging energy systems – delivered by experts in their field Responsibilities The key objectives for this role are: Project work as Lead C&I Engineer for projects as required by the Design Coordinator including managing instrument scope, change control, budget and schedule Act as the primary contact with Project Design Coordinators, managing expectations and coordinating design deliverables to meet critical deadlines Provide expert advice on C&I/ automation scopes of work including FDS, specification, system interfaces, field instrumentation, package reviews, BPCS, F&G system and SIS Responsible for ensuring that all C&I engineering scope change is agreed with the project manager prior to implementation through the life of the project Work closely with the project planner to agree milestones and monitor progress against them Provide engineering support to the estimator and cost controller to develop estimates at project commencement and for any potential scope change Facilitate the generation of C&I engineering risks and mitigations for project risk register, (including 3rd part risk registers) and their ongoing management Ensure that any 3rd party contractors/vendors adhere to the overall project plan throughout the project lifecycle Work in multi-disciplinary teams to ensure the C&I requirements of projects are effectively and technically delivered to meet timeline and budget Work with the line management over major technical issues and planning but otherwise, must be capable of operating with minimum supervision Shall be able to produce technical reports, and clearly explain complex technical C&I related issues Ensuring compliance with quality management systems, support non-conformances investigations, and implementing lessons learned Responsible for assessing effectiveness of working practices and systems with a view to continuously improving systems Carry out work in accordance with company and project Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality systems Identify scope and schedule changes in accordance with Management of Change Control Process Keep up to date with technical developments, Client, National and International standards and legislative requirements related to the discipline Maintain good communication with the Client and visit Assets when necessary Qualifications What makes you remarkable? Expected: Typically qualified to ISCED Level 6 (Bachelors) in engineering or equivalent combination of qualifications and experience Proven experience with working & managing a project team of lead engineers in C&I, F&G, Automation and Functional Safety teams across a range of industry sectors. on Small, Medium / Large capital projects from concept to start-up Proven experience with specification control and safety system upgrades and modifications Proven experience with sizing of flow devices / control valves / relief devices Proven experience with attendance and contributing to HAZOP, LOPA, Alarm Reviews and SIL Determination Significant experience in planning, progress monitoring, forecasting and reporting activities for the project discipline Conversant with other discipline key project activities and their interaction with/impact on the C&I & Automation scopes
