A leading organisation is seeking a Finance Business Partner to join their Commercial Finance team based in Cheshunt. This pivotal role offers you the opportunity to provide financial support for commercial activities, ensuring robust contract reporting and business controls. You will be instrumental in driving change, supporting strategic planning, and delivering high–quality advice to stakeholders.

What you'll do:

As a Finance Business Partner based in Cheshunt, you will play a crucial role within the Commercial Finance team by providing proactive financial support for commercial activities. Your day–to–day responsibilities will involve collaborating closely with commercial teams to ensure accurate reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes that drive strategic planning. You will analyse contract results from a financial viewpoint, conduct investment appraisals for senior management consideration, and deliver timely advice to stakeholders. Additionally, you will assess contract structures for compliance with accounting standards such as IFRS 15, monitor costs for efficiency gains, identify tax impacts of unusual contracts, perform due diligence on external partners, and support both statutory and client audits. Success in this role requires building strong relationships across departments while maintaining high standards of accuracy and integrity in all financial matters.

* Support commercial teams by providing accurate reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes that underpin strategic planning initiatives.
* Analyse reported contract results from a financial perspective to ensure completeness and accuracy while offering constructive feedback.
* Conduct thorough investment appraisals and present recommendations to senior management to guide decision–making.
* Deliver timely, high–quality information, advice, and support to key internal stakeholders across finance and commercial departments.
* Monitor costs including central recharges, identify areas for savings or efficiencies, and implement processes to achieve these improvements.
* Identify and assess the accounting and tax impacts of unusual contracts, ensuring proper setup and operation with appropriate financial controls.
* Perform contract impact assessments related to changes in tax legislation such as IR35 or DRC, developing processes to minimise negative impacts while maintaining compliance.
* Support statutory audit requirements as well as client audit needs by preparing relevant documentation and facilitating positive relationships.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Finance Business Partner role will bring proven experience as a qualified accountant (ACA), supported by strong academic credentials including a 2.1 degree. Your technical proficiency in Excel will allow you to handle complex reporting tasks efficiently. You possess highly developed numerical skills paired with analytical abilities that enable you to interpret financial data accurately. Your communication skills are outstanding; you can build rapport across various teams while delivering stakeholder–focused service. You thrive under pressure by applying logical planning techniques that ensure timely delivery of critical information. Analytical thinking combined with problem–solving capabilities allows you to address challenges collaboratively. Your initiative–driven approach means you are always looking for ways to improve processes while supporting colleagues throughout the organisation.

* Qualified accountant (ACA) with relevant post–qualification experience that demonstrates your commitment to excellence in finance.
* Graduate with at least a 2.1 degree supported by strong A level results which reflect your academic dedication.
* Intermediate Excel skills enabling you to manage complex data sets efficiently for reporting purposes.
* Highly numerate with exceptional analytical ability allowing you to interpret financial information accurately.
* Strong communicator capable of building lasting relationships across all levels of the business through clear interpersonal interactions.
* Stakeholder service driven approach that ensures you consistently deliver valuable insights and support.
* Ability to work under pressure using logical planning methods to produce accurate time–critical information at an appropriate level of detail.
