Rate of Pay: £151.18 - £206.26 per day
Summary:
As a Social Worker within our busy Help, Protection and Care team, you will be at the forefront of safeguarding children and supporting families in Nottinghamshire. This role is designed for a dedicated professional capable of managing a complex caseload that spans the entire continuum of statutory intervention—from Child in Need (CiN) and Child Protection (CP) to Initial Looked After Children (LAC) and the initiation of care proceedings.Given the fast-paced nature of this long-term team, we are looking for an adaptable individual who can respond flexibly to shifting work demands while maintaining high standards of practice and a child-centered approach.
Responsibilities:
* Conduct high-quality, analytical assessments of risk and need. Develop and implement robust child protection and care plans.
* Engage directly with children and young people using a variety of tools to ensure their voices are heard and reflected in all decision-making.
* Chair and contribute to core groups, CIN meetings, and strategy discussions, working closely with police, health, and education partners.
* Support children entering the care system, ensuring smooth transitions and early permanency planning for those who cannot remain with their families.
Qualifications:
* A recognized degree in Social Work (BA, BSc, DipSW, CQSW, or equivalent).
* Active registration with Social Work England.
Essentials:
* Proven experience working within a statutory frontline team (Child Protection or Court work).
* Demonstrable knowledge of the Children Act 1989 and 2004, and experience navigating the Public Law Outline (PLO) process.
* The ability to remain calm and effective under pressure in a high-demand environment.
