Our Apprenticeship Programme
The Linde Material Handling Engineering Apprenticeship Programme aims to develop skilled engineers to support our demand for field, workshop, and site-based engineers. The main goal is to help you become a fully competent Linde engineer by applying college learning and demonstrating this knowledge to your mentors, Apprentice Development Officer, and college assessors to meet our customers' needs.
We are seeking an enthusiastic Apprentice Engineer to be field-based, covering East Lothian and the EH postcode. You should be passionate about engineering, eager to learn, motivated to succeed, and interested in starting a career with a multinational engineering company.
The programme lasts three years, culminating in a Level 3 apprenticeship in Lift Truck & Powered Access Engineering. Throughout this period, you'll be supported by a dedicated Mentor and an Apprentice Development Officer, who will monitor your progress through college and on-the-job training. You will learn to inspect, maintain, service, and repair various types of material handling equipment, including forklift trucks and warehouse equipment.
Travel to college and overnight stays for learning blocks will be required, with travel, accommodation, and meals funded.
Upon successful completion, you will be a fully qualified Linde engineer ready to start your career with a market leader.
Your Responsibilities
* Attend all required training courses (internal & external)
* Pass all knowledge block training tests at college
* Complete End Point Assessment for Level 3 in Lift Truck & Powered Access Engineering
* Pass all assessments demonstrating safety, product knowledge, and diagnostic skills
* Complete online tests and assessments by deadlines
* Maintain an e-Portfolio to college standards
* Work closely with trainers to achieve your qualification
* Develop competence in preventative maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics on Linde equipment
Qualifications & Skills
To succeed, you should have a passion for engineering, be motivated, and demonstrate a willingness to learn. Good communication skills and a positive attitude are essential, along with pride in your work and adaptability.
Minimum requirements include:
* GCSE Grade 4 or above in Maths and English (or predicted grades), or a National 5 in Scotland
* An interest in engineering and technology
