We are excited to advertise our Deputy Ward Manager position for our bed Acute Assessment Unit (Mulberry ) on our Fulbourn site, with good transport links and free parking.
Our Acute Assessment Ward is part of our innovative and ambitious model of care, known as the -- model. Our three wards work collaboratively to enable patients to access the right care at the right time. We have our Acute Assessment Unit (Mulberry ), where patients stay up to days, our Treatment ward (Mulberry ), where patients stay up to weeks and our Recovery Unit (Mulberry ), where patients stay up to months.
Our Mulberry ward provides care for our local population experiencing serious mental illness. We are looking for someone with a commitment to teamwork, a sense of accountability, and an ability to work under pressure.

Main duties of the job
As a Deputy Ward Manager you will be responsible for the provision of quality evidence-based nursing advice, support, and care for service users with mental and physical health needs and to their carers within a multidisciplinary setting. You will be responsible for leading on the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care on night shifts.
You will also be responsible for identifying and contributing to the training needs of junior registered and unregistered staff and ensure that issues of equality, diversity and rights are dealt with in accordance with good practice and legislation. You will ensure that effective communication pathways exist, and that they act within their sphere of responsibility, leading the night shift in the absence of the Clinical Nurse Specialist, Ward Manager or the designated deputy.
