Material Planner Tachbrook Park 12 months Secondment, Full-time, Hybrid About the Role We’re looking for a proactive and analytical Material Planner to join our Supply Chain team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working collaboratively across departments, and driving continuous improvement. In this role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring our cylinder and tank production teams have the right materials, in the right place, at the right time. You’ll help balance inventory levels while minimising stock-outs, supporting operational performance and customer delivery across the business. This position offers real ownership and visibility, with responsibility for managing material planning activities across multiple sites and influencing supply chain performance through data-driven decision making and supplier collaboration. What You’ll Be Doing Managing and optimising material availability across sites to support production and installation activities Monitoring inventory levels and implementing actions to reduce stock shortages and excess stock Planning and purchasing materials, managing inventory spend of over £6 million annually Working closely with suppliers to improve delivery performance and maintain strong working relationships Using SAP S4 and planning tools to manage exceptions, maintain material parameters, and support efficient material flow Collaborating with colleagues across Supply Chain, Procurement, Stores, Engineering, and Production to ensure effective communication and operational success Analysing inventory and supply chain data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and implementing best practice material management processes What We’re Looking For Essential Skills & Experience Experience using ERP systems, ideally SAP or JDE Strong analytical and data interpretation skills Advanced computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word Ability to problem-solve independently and make sound business decisions A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Ability to gather and interpret information from a variety of sources Full UK driving licence Willingness to travel occasionally to other Calor sites Desirable Degree in Supply Chain Management or related discipline Lean Six Sigma qualification APICS CPIM or similar professional certification Previous experience in a material planning or similar supply chain role Why Apply?
