Our Water and Environment business provides a focus for advising our clients on sustainability issues including renewable energy, low carbon economies, impacts of climate change and waste and resource management.
We are looking for seasonal ecologists to support our project commitments on a range of contract types.We are especially interested in recruiting experienced field survey leads, bat specialists, water vole specialists, botanists and ornithologists in particular, and would be keen to offer fixed term full-time or part-time roles to the right candidates.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Supporting the national team of ecologists working on a variety of projects
2. Survey support and logistic planning
3. Ecological surveying and biological data collection
4. Producing quality assured ecology deliverables
5. Report Writing
Here's What You'll Need:
Qualifications - External
6. An honours degree in Ecology or similar
7. Experience in ecology surveys and as a field scientist
8. Eligibility for CIEEM membership
9. Capable of managing a challenging workload subject to change at short notice
10. Ability to write clear, concise reports
11. You must be a good team player with a willingness to work away from your base office.
12. Willingness to work unsocial hours in the outdoors, during all weathers (All PPE will be provided)
Ideally, here’s what you’ll also have:
13. Driving license (please specify on your CV)
14. Relevant undergraduate work placements, post graduate studies or volunteering experience
15. Understanding of relevant UK legislation
16. Understanding of GIS or basic ability using ArcGIS
17. A first aid qualification
18. Full CIEEM membership
19. Postgraduate degree
20. Protected species licence(s)
21. An ecological specialism
22. Chartered Environmentalist
23. ECoW experience
