Delighted to be working exclusively with a client based in the south side of Glasgow who has a requirement for a Finance Manager to join them on a part-time basis. This role is office-based, working 3 days a week (flexible on days), with a salary of up to £55k (pro rata). Free parking is available.
The Finance Manager performs a critical support function by managing and coordinating accounting functions and ensuring continuous cash flow. The role is demanding and diverse, requiring initiative, accuracy, and attention to detail. An effective Finance Manager is essential in helping the company achieve its objectives and remain industry-leading.
Essential Duties
1. Oversee end-to-end finance operations to ensure smooth departmental functioning.
2. Stay updated on finance and payroll legislation to ensure compliance.
3. Prepare financial statements and management accounts, including VAT, Inland Revenue Returns, and corporation tax payments.
4. Assist and cooperate with Company Accountants.
5. Help prepare for audits.
6. Ensure timely payments of PAYE and NIC to HMRC.
7. Ensure timely payments to suppliers and third parties.
8. Prepare regular reports for management.
9. Assist in preparing annual budgets and forecasts.
10. Improve finance, payroll, and credit control procedures.
11. Manage cash flow forecasting.
12. Review the creditworthiness of potential clients and report findings.
13. Review debts and provisions for bad and doubtful debts.
14. Report on the financial performance of the company and satellite sites.
15. Act as the first point of contact for high-level finance and payroll matters, escalating as needed.
16. Supervise and motivate the finance team, reporting concerns promptly.
17. Assist with payroll processing when required.
Experience and Skills
1. Experience in a fast-paced financial environment.
2. Knowledge of VAT and PAYE processes.
3. Payroll experience.
4. Understanding of accounting and credit control practices.
5. Experience with Sage Line 50, Xero, or similar software.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
