Reception Class Teacher
Following our recent Ofsted rating in February 2026, we are moving into the next stage of our development and are seeking an excellent Reception teacher to join our existing team of wonderful staff. We welcome applications from early career teachers as well as those more experienced.
Responsibilities
* Be passionate about teaching and learning in EYFS and ensuring every child reaches their potential.
* Be an excellent classroom practitioner, or for ECTs, have the desire to become one.
* Communicate effectively with pupils, parents, carers and colleagues.
* Bring new qualities and strengths to the school to help it progress.
* Support the distinctive Christian ethos of the school.
Qualifications
* Good subject knowledge for EYFS.
* Effective communication skills.
* Commitment to safeguarding with the ability to undertake an enhanced DBS check.
* Fluency in spoken and written English (essential for immigration purposes).

Hours: Full time. Grade: Teachers Main/Upper Pay Range £32,916 – £51,048 p.a. Location: St Matthew’s Church of England Primary School, Windmill Lane, Smethwick, West Midlands B66 3LX. Closing date: Monday 18th May 2026 12pm. Interviews: Wednesday 20th May 2026.
