About LEAF (Linking Environment And Farming)

LEAF (Linking Environment And Farming) is a leading organisation working to inspire and enable more sustainable farming and food systems. Through our education and public engagement work, we help people of all ages understand where their food comes from, meet the farmers who produce it, and explore the importance of caring for the environment.

The Role

We’re looking for a thoughtful, organised and motivated Education and Public Engagement Officer to join our supportive team at LEAF.

This is a varied and rewarding role for someone who enjoys engaging with people, coordinating purposeful projects, and helping to connect others with farming, food, and the natural world.

Every day will bring something different — from supporting the education team through project support and reporting to assisting farmers to open their farms for visitors, host or helping to plan events that celebrate the role of sustainable farming.

You’ll help deliver LEAF Open Farm Sunday, the UK’s biggest annual celebration of farming, and support a range of education and engagement activities throughout the year.

We recognise that people work and communicate in different ways. We welcome and encourage applicants who bring diverse perspectives, experiences, and approaches.

What You’ll Do

* Coordinate and support the delivery of LEAF Open Farm Sunday, including registrations, enquiries, and resources.
* Build positive relationships with farmers, members, and partners to help them engage the public with food and farming.
* Provide reliable administrative and project support across LEAF’s education programmes and events.
* Support with data collection, surveys, and reporting to help track the impact of our work.
* Assist with communications, newsletters, and fundraising activities.
* Represent LEAF at meetings and events, sharing information and learning with others.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is curious, organised, and enjoys making things happen. You’ll bring good attention to detail, clear communication skills, and a genuine enthusiasm for learning and supporting others.

If you have the skills and motivation to succeed in this role, we want to hear from you.

Essential skills and experience

* Experience in project coordination, events, or administrative support.
* Clear written and verbal communication skills, with an excellent telephone manner and confidence conversing with stakeholders over the phone.
* Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other commonly used software packages.
* Organised, with the ability to plan your work and prioritise tasks.
* Able to work both independently and collaboratively.
* GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
* A full, clean UK driving licence and access to a vehicle – the role involves occasional travel to farms and events, sometimes in rural areas with limited public transport.

Why Join LEAF?

* Be part of a passionate, purpose-driven organisation making a real difference.
* Work in a supportive, friendly, and collaborative team.
* Hybrid working – enjoy flexibility with two set office days per week.
* Opportunities to attend inspiring events across the UK.
* 25 days annual leave, plus 8 bank holidays and 3 discretionary days over the December break.

How to Apply

If you’re passionate about education, farming, and engaging people with the environment, we would love to hear from you.

We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, identities, and abilities. If you would like any adjustments or support during the recruitment process, please let us know — we’re happy to make this process work for you.

To submit your application please send your CV and supporting letter to jobs@leaf.eco by noon, 9 th December 2025.
