Across our Luton and Bedfordshire teams, we are developing an exciting opportunity for NMC registered practitioners to work with children and families from the antenatal period to 19 years of age.
If you hold a current Band 5 NMC registration, are excited by innovation, and are passionate about the public health agenda and improving health outcomes for children, young people, and families, then this may be the career for you.
You will work in an integrated 0-19 team within our Luton and Bedfordshire services and will be supported to develop your skills and knowledge to support the team in delivering our service confidently and competently. You will have opportunities to work both virtually and in person, gaining experience of our universal and targeted community services.
Upon successful appointment, you will be expected to undertake the Registered Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN) degree course within 3 years, depending on your readiness and course availability.
This role requires the ability to travel to various bases, other services, and families' homes. Development roles are available across all areas of Luton and Bedfordshire.

As part of a multidisciplinary 0-19 team, your responsibilities will include identifying the health needs of children, young people, their families, and the community, and contributing to strategies to address these needs.
You will be committed to learning and development, supported to develop skills and knowledge for the SCPHN course.
You will learn to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care packages to deliver early interventions to families, supporting them through home visits, digital clinics, virtual, and phone contacts.
You will work with local teams to support vulnerable or at-risk children, adhering to safeguarding procedures and participating in case conferences and reviews.
You will support other localities, develop clinical skills, and maintain effective working relationships and service continuity.
You will learn to deliver universal services within the locality, supporting families in accessing self-care resources and developing self-efficacy.
You will develop skills to promote digital resource use during contacts to enhance self-care for children, young people, and families.
You will take responsibility for your clinical practice, including supervision, and adhere to the NMC code of conduct.
You will contribute to local policy development and service design projects.
You will develop skills to utilize virtual platforms for assessments, interventions, training, and networking to support effective practice and partnerships.
