About ADPH London

ADPH London represents Directors of Public Health (DSPH) in London’s 32 local authorities and the City of London, supporting them to improve and protect the health of local populations.

Through ADPH London, DSPH work together to address issues that can only be successfully tackled on a pan‑London basis, and/or that enhance the ability of boroughs to meet their responsibilities locally.

In 2021, ADPH London published a position statement highlighting racism as a public health issue, given the immediate and structural factors that impact diverse communities, and developed an action plan to support Black, Asian and minority ethnic communities during and beyond COVID‑19.


Key responsibilities

* Support the delivery of public health business processes and systems required specifically to ensure the efficient running of the ADPH London programme.
* Provide project management, business support, and ensure external enquiries and administrative duties are fulfilled in accordance with expectations and priorities.
* Work closely with external partners across the voluntary, statutory and business sectors, local residents, London Councils, the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities, NHS England/Improvement London and the Greater London Authority.
* Embed within the City and Hackney Public Health Service and work closely with programme sponsors, the London Association of Directors of Public Health and local partners.
* Be able to work flexibly, adapt to evolving demands of the role and manage tasks both independently and within various teams.
* Handle competing priorities efficiently.
