Job Title: Lecturer/Assessor in Carpentry
The School of Technical, Construction and Motor Vehicle at Carshalton College is seeking a Lecturer/Assessor in Carpentry to deliver high-quality teaching, learning, assessment, and tutorial support to students and apprentices. The role involves supporting curriculum development through employer engagement and enhancing learner skills.
Responsibilities include delivering teaching and assessment activities in carpentry, such as lectures, coursework, practical activities, and fieldwork. You will select appropriate assessment methods, evaluate student progress, and provide constructive feedback.
The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of the Carpentry Apprenticeship standard and assessment processes up to End-Point Assessment (EPA). You should possess interdisciplinary skills and recent experience in carpentry within an FE College, along with a teaching qualification or willingness to obtain one.
Applicants should demonstrate advanced computer literacy, effective organisation and prioritisation skills, and excellent communication skills suitable for diverse audiences. Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines is essential.
The successful candidate will be eligible for salary increases based on annual cost of living reviews.
