An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Registered Nurse to join our small, specialised clinical team on Tysul ward. Tysul Eye Unit offers ophthalmology day case theatre, emergency eye clinics, pre-assessment clinics, and IVT clinics based in Amman Valley hospital.
As a Band 5 staff nurse within the team, you will support all areas alongside colleagues to deliver high-quality care to ophthalmology patients.
The post is based at Glangwili Hospital, Carmarthen, with requirements to cover clinics at Amman Valley Hospital, making flexibility across trust sites essential.
Main duties of the job
Working autonomously and as part of a team, with a flexible and reliable approach, is essential. Flexibility is needed to cover clinics from Monday to Friday, between 7.30 am and 6 pm. The service does not operate on weekends or bank holidays.
Good communication and teamwork skills are required. Previous ophthalmology experience is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided. Good IT skills are also essential.
Knowledge of Welsh is desirable; applications from English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome.

Qualifications and Knowledge
* Current NMC registration
* Awareness of Health Board policies, procedures, and guidelines
* Degree in Nursing
* Evidence of post-registration study (e.g., Intermediate Life Support)
* Specialist ophthalmology training
