A Lab is a co-located team working together on key projects to deliver value at pace by designing services that people find useful, easy and engaging to use. Typically, a Lab has a strong focus on problem solving in an agile environment where engineers are free to experiment and create innovative products which will transform the way our customers engage with us.
We're passionate about providing innovative solutions to support our customers in managing their Business cash-flow efficiently. This underpins our role in Helping Britain Recover and ultimately Prosper.
Here's where you'll make a difference:
1. Writing modular, well-tested front-end applications that stay easy to maintain as our codebase and business scale. Your work has a big impact—it helps ensure our platform stays reliable and manageable, even as we grow.
2. Ensure our software aligns with existing frameworks, patterns, and practices across the broader engineering community, it really enhances consistency and efficiency. Your attention to this not only benefits our team but also helps us integrate more seamlessly with other departments.
3. A relentless focus on delivering business value through sound engineering methods and principles has a significant impact on our project's success. This dedication ensures we maintain high standards, creates reliable solutions, and instills confidence in the team.
4. Contribute to supporting the strategic direction for application development within the team using JavaScript and React to build user interfaces.
5. Ensure that software is built in a way that is consistent with the core Architectural frameworks, patterns and practices that exist across the wider Engineering community.
6. Be aware of industry innovation, and gain exposure to the knowledge required to provide solutions for complex business problems where no precedent may exist.
7. Good knowledge of infrastructure and security architecture practices and concerns
What you'll need
8. Deep understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Typescript, and responsive web design, along with your knowledge of RESTful APIs and web services.
9. Deep understanding of React Frameworks and your hands-on experience with Micro Frontend Architecture and Module Federation really shines through.
10. Strong professional experience with React and state management libraries like Redux and React-Query.
11. Strong understanding of source code repositories tools like Git. This expertise has led to our team's smoother workflows and fewer merge conflicts.
12. Familiarity with development aiding tools like npm and webpack is really beneficial. It streamlines our workflow and makes the development process smoother.
