NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff in various clinical and non-clinical roles. We provide acute hospital, primary, community, and mental health services to a population of over 1.15 million, extending to 2.2 million with regional and national services.
Applications are invited for a Consultant Urological Surgeon position, supporting the Urology Prostate and Core Urology Service across NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, and serving our growing local population.
The successful candidate should have experience with patients with benign and prostate cancer and will join a dynamic team committed to providing excellent patient care.
The initial contract is for 12 months with potential for a permanent position. The out-of-hours commitment involves a 1 in 11 on-call rota. The role includes delivering urological services at the consultant level, with elective sessions possibly rotating across GGC facilities including QEUH, Victoria Ambulatory Care Facility, and Gartnavel General Hospital.
This is a full-time position on a 10 PA basis.
Applicants must hold full GMC Registration, a license to practice, and be eligible for GMC Specialist Register inclusion. UK-trained applicants should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry. CESR route doctors are eligible only after CESR is awarded. Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.
