Key Responsibilities
What You’ll Do
You will support the Head of Business Risk by providing effective Group oversight of operational risk and internal control management, including risk reporting. Working within the Business Risk team alongside other Business Risk Managers, you'll oversee operational risk and monitor our DLG risk profile—staying updated on internal and external developments.
Risk Management
* Provide oversight of Operational Risk, reviewing business area risk profiles, Key Risk Indicators, management actions, and responses to Events.
* Assess and monitor the Group’s Risk Profile against Risk Appetite, considering internal and external trends.
* Enhance Risk Appetite application through rationalising and improving risk and control assessment activities.
* Identify digitisation and automation opportunities in risk management.
* Collaborate with 1LOD management to ensure risks outside appetite are addressed with action plans.
* Identify areas for formal Risk Assurance and suggest improvements.
* Promote a risk-aware culture across the Group.
* Support the quarterly RCSA process and maintain related tools and policies.
* Participate in Group Governance activities to ensure they support balanced risk decisions.
* Maintain relationships across all three lines of defence to improve risk management practices.
Risk Reporting
* Contribute to executive and board risk reports, including CRO Reports and ORSA.
* Assist in updating the Group’s assessment of emerging and top risks.
* Support operational risk committee activities, including scheduling, agenda setting, and reporting.
* Contribute to governance papers to clearly report the operational risk profile.
What You’ll Need
* Understanding of risk, control, and growth balance.
* Curiosity and passion for innovation.
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills.
* Experience with thematic risk assurance assessments.
* Excellent report writing skills with the ability to simplify complex subjects.
* Financial Services experience is preferable.
