CNC Lathe Programmer - Evening Shift
As a CNC Lathe Programmer, the work matters when it stretches you.
Machined components in exotic materials.
Tight tolerances where accuracy isn't optional.
Responsibility for your own inspection because quality sits with the engineer, not a separate department.
That's the day to day of this CNC Lathe Programmer role.
The evening shift is expanding, with four CNC Lathe Programmer positions across sliding head and CNC lathes. The work is varied, technical, and requires engineers who understand why precision matters, not just how to achieve it.
You'll be programming and machining components where tolerances are tight, materials are challenging, and standards are high. You'll measure using verniers, Thread mics, check, and sign off your own work, knowing it's right before it leaves the machine.
If you're already a CNC Lathe Programmer, this will feel like proper engineering rather than production for production's sake.
If you're currently setting or running lathes, working on capstans or EMI Mec, and you already think in tolerances and inspection, this CNC Lathe Programmer role gives you the space to step forward and develop further. Training is there for engineers who want to progress and take on more responsibility.
The shift pattern is Monday to Thursday, 1pm to 11pm, paid at £15 - £19 per hour, dependent on experience, plus shift allowance. 40 hours a week inclusive of paid lunch.
What that gives you is balance.
Mornings free for school runs, training, or simply starting the day without rushing. Evenings focused on engineering work without constant interruption. Thursday night finishes and a three day weekend, every week.
This CNC Lathe Programmer role suits engineers who value accuracy, accountability, and working with materials and components that require thought, not shortcuts.
If you take pride in doing the job properly, this CNC Lathe Programmer role will suit you.
