Job Overview This position provides an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to gain experience and expertise in managing and treating vascular patients, predominantly in the outpatient and ambulatory setting. The post is ideally suited for those who have completed foundation training and/or core surgical training (or equivalent) and are interested in gaining further knowledge and expertise in vascular surgery.
The post holder will be trained in the endovenous treatment of varicose veins under local anaesthetic, as well as their pre‑ and post‑operative care. They will support both face‑to‑face MDT clinics and tele‑clinics, with direct vascular consultant supervision and regular teaching. They will work closely with the specialist vascular nurses and other members of the multi‑disciplinary team to support patients with vascular pathologies within the Health Board. Formal and informal mentorship will be available on request.
The post‑holder will actively participate in the submission of data to the National Vascular Registry, maintain in‑house data collection processes and participate in audit and quality improvement projects. There is an expectation that the post‑holder will teach undergraduate students.

Eligibility Eligible to hold full registration and a licence to practice with the GMC.
Experience – Essential Criteria
Evidence of working effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
At least 12 months of previous experience of working in the NHS
Experience – Desirable Criteria
18 months of experience in medical specialties (excluding Foundation modules) by time of appointment
Skills & Abilities – Essential Criteria
Demonstrable skills in written and spoken English adequate to enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues
Fit to practise safely and up to date with clinical practice
Evidence that present achievement and performance is commensurate with the totality of the period of training
Skills & Abilities – Desirable Criteria
Evidence of experience with hospital management

Flexible and adaptable to competing demands
Ability to travel between sites to meet the needs of the service
