Overview
Morson are working with one of the UK's leading aerospace manufacturers who are looking for a Design Quality Engineer to join the team based at the site just outside Chester.
Responsibilities
* The Quality Engineering Wing team is accountable for the deployment of the Quality Strategy within the Engineering Wing organisations. This strategy is deployed via the implementation of Quality Improvement Project/Plans in order to support the achievement of the Engineering Wing quality targets.
* Drive and deliver improvement projects to support the achievement of the Engineering Wing quality targets (primary activity of the role).
* Facilitate and support root cause analysis & practical problem solving activities.
* Establish and drive corrective and preventive action plans to improve engineering quality performance and its associated deliverables.
* Identify risks/issues relating to the quality of the engineering deliverable and facilitate, support and drive standardised mitigation plans to prevent/mitigate risk linked to the product and its related processes.
* Support the deployment of Quality standards and apply them within the Engineering organisation.
* Capture lessons learned to improve organisational efficiency and product maturity.
Essential Qualifications & Skills
* Relevant Quality and/or Engineering Experience.
* Project Management knowledge.
* Understanding of Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
* Understanding of root cause analysis techniques (e.g. 8D, 9S, etc.).
* Ability to demonstrate appropriate people skills and behaviours when interacting with all levels of management.
* Ability to learn quickly with a positive and enthusiastic attitude towards the workload.
* Excellent communication and English skills, both verbal and written.
* Excellent IT skills as appropriate to the role (Google Workspace / Microsoft Office).
Desirable Skills
* Knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management and Product Data Management Systems.
* Understanding of Engineering Drawing and Modification management.
* Experience in a Design or Manufacturing Engineering Environment (beneficial but not essential).
* Ability to communicate in German (verbal and written) is highly beneficial but not essential.
* Programming experience (JavaScript, Google Apps Script, Python, etc.) is beneficial but not essential.
