The team you will join
The Birketts Private Client Division is recognised as one of the leading teams for advising individuals, families, and trustees. We provide bespoke advice on protecting wealth, planning for the future, and managing complex personal and family matters, often in conjunction with corporate structures and business interests. Our expertise spans everything from succession and tax planning to trusts, family law, Court of Protection, agricultural estates, ecclesiastical issues, and dispute resolution. We pride ourselves on delivering technically excellent, practical solutions with a personal approach that clients can trust.
Our award‑winning team of agricultural specialists is one of the best qualified and largest agricultural teams in the UK market, providing a comprehensive range of legal services to farmers, landowners and agri‑business specialists. The team advises both UK and international clients on all aspects of UK legislation affecting rural real estate investment - including farm acquisitions and disposals, renewable energy projects, planning issues, natural capital, investment in equestrian and rural estate, rights of way and environmental liabilities.
The work you will be doing
* Drafting and negotiating on relevant contracts, deeds, documents, advice notes, letters and correspondence tailored to the client’s individual needs and requirements
* Acting as a key point of contact for clients, building trusted relationships, and identifying opportunities to add value
* Participating in marketing and networking initiatives
* Ownership of personal financial performance, demonstrating accountability and a commercial mindset

What we are looking for
* 0-5 years’ experience gained working in a reputable legal firm
* Demonstrable interest and foundational knowledge in chosen practice area
* Track record of managing caseloads with minimal supervision
* Strong attention to detail to produce work documentation which is consistently of a high standard
* Dependable and efficient in time management
* An interest in business development and an eye for identifying and leveraging opportunities
* Professional integrity and a commitment to providing excellent client service
* To be competent in using Microsoft Word, Excel, time recording software, case management, Outlook and digital dictation

As a Solicitor, we typically expect candidates to have between 0-3 years PQE.
As an Associate, we typically expect candidates to have between 3-6 years PQE.
