Research Fellow in Road User Behaviour

Road transport is vital but plagued by issues such as crashes and congestion, causing social and economic losses. Improving understanding of road user behaviour through real-world data and solid theories is essential for designing effective traffic policies, infrastructure, and technological solutions.
This position is a collaboration between the School of Civil Engineering and the University of Leeds Virtuocity Centre for City Simulation. You will have the opportunity to shape your research focus, whether on analyzing large datasets or computational modelling of human behaviour.
Suitable candidates include traffic psychologists or modellers with expertise in computational methods, or those with experience in both. You will bring your knowledge to work independently while supporting the university’s emphasis on research impact, contributing to solutions in traffic safety and efficiency.
The role is based at the University of Leeds campus with potential for hybrid and flexible working arrangements.
