As part of our scope of works we often are asked to provide the enterprise building converged network to host all the control systems within a building. The candidate will produce and develop detailed Network designs for Enterprise Converged building networks delivered both as part of a wider Lloret project scope of works or as individual projects. This will involve coordinating with third parties sitting on the network to define network cabling requirements and then creating the passive design drawings and schedules. Once the design is approved the by the client the successful candidate will work with the Project manager and site installation team ensure the design is implemented and installed correctly.
The flexible role will primarily be based in our Coulsdon office however may require occasional travel to our project offices based in and around London.
Technical Requirements
The candidate must have the following demonstratable experience:
* Proven track record in delivering passive network designs for Enterprise grade networks
* Experience of coordinating design with the wider construction teams such as main contractors, sub-contractors, design team and client.
* Experience producing engineering documentation such as ICT layout drawings, rack elevations and patching schedules.
* A professional Network Qualification such as CNIDP or another leading network design qualification
* Ability to engineer solutions to required budget and highlight possible commercial and technical risks.
* Ability to clearly detail and explain design concepts in front of the design and client teams and justify design decisions
* Has relevant technical accreditations and qualifications
* Sound working knowledge of passive manufacturers such as Excel, CommScope etc.
Additional Advantageous Experience Required
* Understanding of construction site installation coordination for items such as secondary containment.
* Experience with third party companies that sit on building ICT networks such as security and access control.
* Working knowledge of common network construction frameworks such as WiredScore.
The Key Result Areas for this role are:
Area 1: Project Delivery
* Ensures quality control of design activities on projects and ensures the company quality standards are upheld (ISO 9001 Quality Control System).
* Works with other engineers to identify and develop solutions for new projects.
* Provides feedback on working methods, efficiency improvements etc. to the Engineering Manager.
* Attends project handover meetings from sales to engineering.
* Attends design meetings on and off site as and when required.
* Ensures projects are delivered to a high technical standard.
* Ensures design complies with the contract documentation, specifications and drawings.
* Ensures design is completed in time to meet deadlines for client approval, CAD, FAT test and installation.
* Produces documentation to record and support the design of the system, e.g. equipment schedules, layout drawings, rack elevations, and patching schedules.
* Coordinates and communicates containment routes to ensure the passive design is feasible.
* Sources technical information from manufacturers and suppliers as required
* Creates and submits requests for information (RFIs) to client, ensuring receipt of a clear response and subsequent incorporation of any changes into the design documentation.
* Creates and submits technical submittals to client, ensuring incorporation of any comments into the design documentation prior to manufacture.
* Identifies to the project manager any design changes which may constitute a variation to the contract.
* Produces CAD layout and cabling drawings showing port locations and containment routes.
* Produces and maintains overall patching schedules and other necessary documentation to ensure successful delivery and handover of a passive installation.
* Works on multiple projects in parallel as and when necessary.
* Understands the project hours budgeted for design.
* Ensures work is carried out efficiently to maximise company profitability.
* Assists the project manager by ensuring additional work is identified and additional costs claimed for when appropriate.
* Completes and submits weekly timesheets for job-costing at the beginning of every week.
Area 3: Team Involvement
* Works with the project manager and other departments to deliver individual projects.

* Provides technical and non-technical support to less experienced engineers within the business.
