The Role
As a Lecturer in Media and Film, you will contribute to the delivery and development of our programmes. You will play an active role in sustaining the School’s strong reputation for excellent teaching. The role involves teaching undergraduate and postgraduate modules which incorporate a range of screen cultures, supervising research projects, and contributing to curriculum design. You will also maintain an active research profile that complements and enhances the School’s existing strengths. You will also engage with university initiatives that promote creativity, diversity, and international perspectives within Film and Media education.
Required Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will possess a film and media studies background (rather than a production or practice-based one) and will have a PhD. They will also be aware of the rapidly evolving media ecology and how audiences are engaging with media and film in diverse ways. Additional knowledge and experience of AI technologies in education is welcome, as will experience of developing or delivering work-related learning into curriculum delivery.
A developing research profile in your specialist area is expected, alongside a commitment to producing outputs of recognised quality. The successful candidate will be collegial, committed to student success, and eager to contribute to a culture of collaboration, inclusivity, and academic excellence within the School.
