We are looking for a full time night delivery driver to join our wholesale team, and be a customer facing representative for The Spence Bakery. You will be working nights and weekends. Shifts are from 01:30 to 07:30 (approximately). The role will involve the efficient delivery of our products to multiple locations across London. You will be part of a small team, and must enjoy working with others. The position is based at our wholesale bakery in Bethnal Green. Responsibilities Operate the delivery vehicle safely, to transport goods during night hours, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations. Work closely with the bakers and other wholesale delivery drivers to ensure timely and efficient organisation and delivery of orders. Communicate effectively to address any issues that may arise. Plan and execute delivery routes efficiently, taking into account required customer and inhouse delivery times. Load and unload baked goods from the delivery vehicle, ensure proper handling and preventing damage. Verify orders against delivery notes, ensuring the correct products and quantities are delivered. Noting any shortages or issues encountered. Interact with customers professionally, addressing any issues or concerns were possible (or by referring questions to line manager), and providing excellent service. Perform basic vehicle maintenance checks, such as, but not limited to, checking lights, oil, tires, fluids, and reporting any issues to line manager. Maintain cleanliness of delivery vehicle, inside and out. The candidate we are looking for must: Be an experienced driver with a full UK/EU driving licence Be confident driving a large van (L2H2 Ford Transit) Be physically fit, and able to lift 25kg Have a good knowledge of North, East and Central London areas, and be able to plan efficient routes Have excellent interpersonal customer service skills Be highly organized, skilled at multi-tasking, with an excellent attention to detail Have good spoken and written English Previous experience of wholesale bread/food multi-drop deliveries (not Deliveroo/Just Eat) is advantageous What we offer: Competitive salary (Starting rate circa £15.00-16.00 per hour (minimum 8 hours paid per shift) 28 days holiday per year (including bank holidays) Defined contribution pension scheme Fixed days off Paid break Staff food and coffee/cold drinks Free bread
