Role Overview
The Experienced Curry Chef will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting a variety of Indian and Sri Lankan curries to restaurant standards. This role requires deep knowledge of spices, sauces, and traditional cooking techniques, as well as the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Prepare and cook a wide range of Indian & Sri Lankan curries to the highest standard
· Ensure consistency in taste, portion, and presentation of dishes
· Assist with menu planning and development of new curry recipes
· Maintain kitchen cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards
· Monitor stock levels, order ingredients, and manage inventory efficiently
· Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in curry preparation techniques
· Work closely with the Head Chef to ensure smooth kitchen operations
· Maintain knowledge of food allergens and dietary requirements
Requirements
· Proven experience as a Curry Chef or Senior Chef specializing in Indian/Sri Lankan cuisine
· Strong knowledge of spices, sauces, and curry preparation techniques
· Ability to work under pressure and in a busy kitchen environment
· Excellent organizational and teamwork skills
· Health and Safety Level 1 Certificate
· Food and Hygienic Level 1 Certificate
· Professional, reliable, and flexible with working hours (evenings, weekends, holidays)
· Culinary qualification in Indian/Sri Lankan cuisine is a plus
