Category Manager

Our client is seeking a Category Manager to join their Procurement team. This role is ideal for someone commercially astute, results-driven, and experienced in driving procurement strategy, supplier performance, and cost efficiencies within a fast-paced environment.
The Role
You'll play a key role in supporting procurement and supply chain activities that directly impact profitability, cashflow, and operational efficiency. The position involves managing supplier relationships, driving process improvements, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain strong internal relationships, influencing stakeholders across the business.
* Lead supplier negotiations, ensuring best value, optimal terms, and long-term partnerships.
* Monitor category performance and provide regular reporting on KPIs.
* Identify and deliver process improvements to achieve cost savings and efficiency gains.
* Forecast price and market trends, maintaining accurate supplier and pricing data.
* Support procurement strategy, contract management, and supplier evaluation processes.
* Utilise ERP systems (Netsuite/Netstock) to manage procurement activity.
About You
* Strong background in procurement/category management.
* Skilled in supplier relationship management and negotiation.
* Commercially aware with excellent organisational and analytical skills.
* Confident communicator with the ability to influence at all levels.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office; Netsuite/Netstock knowledge desirable.
* CIPS membership or degree-level qualification advantageous.
