Primary Objective of the Job
The Deputy Manager position is responsible for driving trade by leading our Shop teams alongside the Shop Manager. This involves deputising wherever required including using KPI management to drive shop performance, ensuring the shop delivers the best customer experience, developing the team, and ensuring White Stuff has a presence in the local community.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll report to the Shop Manager and sit within our Retail team.
Responsibilities
* Customer Experience: Train, drive and coach the team to deliver an amazing in-store customer experience in line with our pillars (Be Friendly, Be Valuable, Be Inspiring) throughout the Customer Journey.
* Product Presentation and Visual Standards: Evaluate floor layout and sales trends regularly, ensure the shop floor responds to commercial opportunity, and explain product features to support styling and purchases. Maintain brand VM standards and layouts.
* Commercial Management: Understand commercial opportunities for your shop and maximise these; manage budgets; coordinate promotions, incentives and key trading weeks.
* People Management and Development: Develop the team’s knowledge and skills; lead briefs and reviews; plan staffing; attract, recruit and retain high-calibre team members; engage in succession planning; seek local opportunities such as events; provide regular praise and feedback.
* Shop Operations: Lead delivery and replenishment, stocktake, ship-from-store and Click and Collect processes; act as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders; lead Health and Safety in the shop.
* Doing Good Stuff: Live our Values; support charity initiatives and understand our approach to ethical sourcing and environmental impact.
