The Role
The Delivery Project Manager will be the lead person within TfW for the management and delivery of their programme of projects across the Wales and Borders and Core Valley Lines network. They will be responsible for managing all aspects of the works from scoping through to tender award, work completion and handover.
Role Responsibilities
* Ensure effective project planning, control and monitoring is in place, working in accordance with the TfW Project Management Methodology and PRINCE 2 principles. Ensure that they are within agreed parameters (scope/specification, safety, timescale, cost and quality).
* Be responsible for the interface within Transport for Wales, Welsh Government (WG), Network Rail, Amey Infrastructure Wales, Department for Transport, local authorities and internal and external stakeholders concerning the Stations Improvement projects and programmes.
* Work within the governance structure provided by the Project Management Office (PMO).
* Ensure all works are planned and delivered in accordance with Health and Safety legislation and TfW company procedures to make sure that a safe working environment is provided for the execution of the work.
* Manage programme and project budgets working with the finance business partner, external contractors and consultants. Responsible for commercial aspects of all projects from tendering and contractor selection through to contract management, e.g. reviewing and agreeing contractor payment applications, variations and final accounts.
Who We're Looking For
* Experience of managing projects through the whole project lifecycle
* Thorough knowledge of project management principles
* Highly organised, proactive, attention to detail, focused, decisive.
* Ability to prioritise and manage multiple workloads at various stages of the project life cycle and manage competing priorities.
* Ability to work collaboratively across levels internally and externally
Welsh Language Skills
While not essential for this role, Welsh language skills would make a great addition to your application.
