The Volunteer to Career programme for the Armed Forces community provides tailored volunteering opportunities at hospitals and hospices to help you:
1. Help people get better
2. Build your employability confidence
3. Identify a clear career pathway to achieve your potential
As a volunteer, you will support staff, patients, and their carers in various ways, such as providing quick assistance in a fast-paced environment, assisting with exercises to improve fitness, or offering a listening ear to ease anxiety. This programme aims to help volunteers find employment in the healthcare sector. During your volunteering, you will:
1. Gain insights into working in the healthcare field
2. Receive tailored support to explore career opportunities
3. Navigate the recruitment process or access further training
4. Build your confidence
5. Shape your volunteering experiences to align with your career goals
6. Receive support to improve numeracy and literacy skills if desired
7. Get peer-to-peer support for mental health conditions
Current volunteering opportunities include careers in:
* Non-Clinical, Estate roles
* Corporate roles (HR, Finance, IT)
* Nursing, Medical roles, HCA, Estates, Allied Health Professions, Nursing/Midwifery, Support Services, Medical & Dental, Portering, Catering, Domestic, Administration, and other corporate functions
