About the role

The Event Marketing Manager plays a key role in the successful development and delivery of events. Working closely with the Event Leader, this role provides market and customer insight and partners with sales teams to align campaigns and messaging that drive awareness, lead generation, and event attendance.

The role designs and delivers marketing programmes to support products, services, or market sectors, using a mix of channels such as digital, print, and broadcast. It collaborates cross‑functionally with sales, technical, and wider marketing teams to plan and implement effective marketing strategies.

This is an experienced marketing role requiring strong practical and conceptual expertise within marketing, alongside working knowledge of related disciplines.

The Sustainable Energy Council (SEC), now part of RX, is driving a hydrogen powered energy transition. The UK team cover two main events, and. We play a key role by gathering public and private sector stakeholders at our global Summits to collaborate and sign partnerships for ambitious hydrogen projects that will significantly contribute to reaching net-zero goals.

Responsibilities

1. Develop and deliver insight‑led marketing plans aligned to the Event Value Plan (EVP) and wider portfolio strategy
2. Use market intelligence, customer insight, and data to identify growth opportunities and expand audience reach
3. Partner closely with Sales to align messaging, enablement, and account‑based marketing initiatives
4. Plan and deliver integrated marketing activity across appropriate channels to drive awareness, leads, and attendance
5. Act as the voice of the customer, bringing audience insight into planning and decision‑making
6. Build and maintain strong relationships with industry partners, associations, media, and key stakeholders
7. Represent the brand as the on‑site marketing lead at events and industry forums
8. Lead projects or own ongoing initiatives, contributing to the long‑term success and positioning of the portfolio

Requirements

9. Proven experience delivering marketing strategies and campaigns, ideally within a product, event, or B2B environment
10. Strong ability to use insight and data to inform decisions and measure impact
11. Experience working collaboratively with sales and cross‑functional teams
12. Clear, inclusive communication skills, both written and verbal
13. Confidence managing multiple priorities and solving complex problems independently
14. Experience building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
15. Comfortable taking ownership of projects and contributing to shared goals
16. Commitment to inclusive, accessible marketing practices and continuous improvement
