Overview Our client is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to take on a leadership role within a growing civil and structural engineering team supporting complex industrial and infrastructure projects across the UK. This position combines technical delivery with team leadership and client engagement. The successful individual will guide structural engineering projects from concept design through to detailed engineering, working closely with multidisciplinary teams and supporting business growth across key industrial sectors. Projects are typically delivered in sectors such as energy, manufacturing and industrial processing environments, where structural design must consider operational, safety and regulatory constraints.. Key Responsibilities Typical responsibilities may include: Leading and managing a team of structural engineers and supporting their technical development Delivering structural engineering projects from feasibility and concept design through to detailed design and implementation Managing the design process for industrial and commercial structures while ensuring compliance with current engineering codes and standards Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary engineering and environmental teams during project delivery Supporting tender preparation, bid submissions and proposal development Developing and maintaining strong client relationships Managing project scope, programme, resources and commercial delivery Meeting clients to define project requirements and develop appropriate engineering solutions Ensuring technical quality and compliance across project deliverables Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to team development. Candidate Requirements Candidates should demonstrate strong structural engineering capability combined with leadership experience within engineering consultancy or industrial project environments. The successful individual will ideally possess: A degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a closely related discipline Experience delivering structural design projects within an engineering consultancy environment Chartered status with IStructE or ICE would be preferred, although other relevant qualifications and equivalent professional experience will also be considered Strong knowledge of structural design codes, standards and engineering best practice Experience managing engineering projects and leading technical teams Strong client-facing communication skills and ability to develop professional relationships Experience contributing to commercial proposals and business development activities Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining technical quality and delivery deadlines Professional chartership (IStructE or ICE) or progression toward chartered status would be advantageous.
