We are a specialist recruitment agency working in partnership with a leading civil engineering contractor to recruit an experienced Senior Civil Engineer for a major infrastructure project based in Sizewell, Suffolk. The Role
As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will support the successful delivery of construction works on site, ensuring technical compliance, quality standards, and programme targets are met. You will work closely with site management, subcontractors, and engineering teams to oversee day-to-day site operations and ensure works are delivered safely, accurately, and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and coordinate civil engineering works on site
Provide technical support to site teams and subcontractors
Ensure works are carried out in line with drawings, specifications, and project requirements
Support setting out activities and verify accuracy of site works
Monitor progress against programme and report any deviations
Assist in managing and resolving technical issues on site
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards and site procedures
Support quality assurance processes, including inspections and documentation
Liaise with the project team to ensure smooth delivery of works
About You
Proven experience as a Civil Engineer within Construction or Civil Engineering projects (essential)
Strong understanding of site engineering processes and construction methodologies
Experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects is highly desirable
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to site delivery
Skills & Qualifications
Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or related discipline
CSCS Card (essential)
Strong communication and organisational skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a wider project team
Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and site compliance requirements
