Senior Hub Practitioner

Location: Lancaster, Morecambe, Fylde and Wyre

£31,067 - £35,235

We are currently recruiting...

We're pleased to announce the introduction of new Senior Hub Practitioner roles within Lancashire County Council's Residential Children's Services, as part of our "Where Our Children Live" programme.

Who are we?

As we expand our service from the Adolescent Support Unit (ASU) to The Hub, we're looking for passionate, community-focused individuals to join our growing team. The Hub supports families across Lancaster, Morecambe, Fylde, and Wyre through early, targeted interventions-before more formal services are needed.

We work directly in the community and in family homes, offering hands-on support to parents, carers, and young people. We also provide overnight short breaks at The Hub, giving families time to pause, reflect, and reset.

Are you a passionate and experienced childcare professional ready to take the next step in your career? Do you want to be part of a supportive, values-driven team that puts children and young people at the heart of everything we do?

As a Senior Hub Practitioner, you'll play a key role in leading and supporting a team of Hub Practitioners. You'll champion the care, safety, and development of children with complex needs, helping to implement care plans, promote education, and support emotional wellbeing. You'll also take a central role in inspections, safeguarding, and care planning, while being a role model for best practice, integrity, and compassion. You will support young people and families who have greater vulnerabilities and needs. You will be responsible for leading, motivating, and supervising a team of practitioners during the course of overnight duties, both during the week, and at weekends.

In return, you'll be part of a forward-thinking, supportive team that values your voice and your contribution. You'll have access to ongoing training and development opportunities, and work in a service that's innovative, collaborative, and child-focused. Most importantly, you'll make a genuine impact on the lives of children and young people in Lancashire.

What we are looking for...

* Has at least 3 years' experience in children's social care or residential settings.
* Holds a QCF Level 4 or NVQ Level 3 or 4 in a relevant field.
* Confident in leading shifts, mentoring staff and managing risk.
* Understands children's legislation and safeguarding practices.

Why join us...

* Generous annual leave allocation, 25 days (rising to 32 days after five years' service) plus eight days bank holidays and two extra statutory days
* Comprehensive Local Government Pension Scheme
* Flexible Working arrangements
* Health and Wellbeing Initiatives including wellness programs and other services including Occupational Health Services, Cycle to work scheme, Eyesight test contribution and our Employee Assistance Programme
* Generous annual leave, maternity, paternity, and adoption leave policies.
* Access to various discounts (e.g. Viv Up) on products and services, including local businesses, national retailers, and car purchase schemes.
* Free parking and all meals/drinks included when on shift
* Stable experienced management team and dedicated Head of Service
* Extensive training programme, including funded apprenticeships up to degree level
