NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included. This is a permanent, fulltime post of 37 hours per week, with a shift pattern of Monday to Friday (9am-5pm). Candidates require to be qualified currently registered nurses who have a degree qualification and are prepared to undertake post graduate SCPHN training. School Nursing works in partnership with children, young people and their carers to develop positive physical and emotional health and wellbeing – assisting them to attain their full potential. School Nursing also works in partnership with the wider multi-agency team EG Social Work, Education, Police and Third Sector Organisations to identify and support health and wellbeing needs for a designated population of school aged children & young people based on the Principles of Getting it Right for Every Child (GIRFEC). Inverclyde HSCP has an opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Community Staff Nurse to join their team. It is essential that you have a robust working knowledge of child protection systems and have excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills along with knowledge of IT systems in order to provide accessible, safe, effective and person centred care as part of the School Nursing Team. The post holder will be accountable for leadership as part of the wider team and will be responsible for the day to day management of their own workload as delegated by the school nurse. Ability to travel across Inverclyde and to take up SCPHN (school nursing) post graduate training is essential.
