Position
An opportunity has arisen for a Dietitian – Mental Health based at Woodland View.
What you will do:
You will work closely within our team of dietitians, dietetic assistant practitioner and support worker and the wider multi-disciplinary team providing evidence based nutritional care for our clients. Experience of working with clients within mental health is not essential but may stand you in good stead in this extremely rewarding area of dietetics.
Due to a review of skill mix and changes to clinical work allocation based on geographical considerations within the team there is a possibility to consider the skills/knowledge that this new post holder would bring to the team.
This presents an opportunity to consider those applicants with varying experience, including and not limited to, those with EMHT, CAMHS, ARFID as examples. The successful applicant will work within an allocated mental health client group to meet the variety of different nutritional needs.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:
You will also be involved in providing training and education to patients, carers, other support staff and professionals on a range of nutritional topics. There will be opportunities to become involved in service development, quality improvement projects and professional development.
Whilst you will be line-managed and supervised by the team lead, you will be supported by the whole team, as well as receiving support from the wider MDT teams for that locality.
The Mental Health Dietetic Team is part of a wider North Ayrshire Dietetic team who are based at Ayrshire Central hospital/Woodland View in Irvine. The dietetic department hold regular clinical supervision sessions, shared education sessions and professional development days. We also have many internal learning opportunities. The team takes a positive and proactive approach to supporting staff in their personal development.

- Degree/Diploma in Nutrition & Dietetics/Post Graduate Diploma
- Registered Dietitian (HCPC)
Hours: 28 hours per week
