Overview

As a Continuing Airworthiness Engineer, your role is to ensure that aircraft remain airworthy throughout their operational life by managing compliance with maintenance programs and regulatory requirements. Our Maintenance & Engineering Department helps us to drive ambition by ensuring safety, efficiency, reliability, and customer satisfaction.


Responsibilities

* Ensuring defects and damage affecting the safe operation are rectified to an approved standard.
* Monitoring defect trends from aircraft undergoing maintenance and in-service aircraft to identify adverse trends.
* Ensuring satisfactory completion and certification of maintenance activity performed by contracted maintenance repair organisations, in accordance with the work specification.
* All aspects of maintenance activities performed in accordance with the approved maintenance organisation's scope of approval and management systems.
* Agree heavy maintenance work scope and specifications (in conjunction with the Head of Airworthiness) with emphasis on ADs, SBs, modifications and repairs.
* Liaise with operationally relevant external entities to ensure optimum operational performance of the airline fleet.
* Development of aircraft maintenance programmes where airworthiness coordination has been subcontracted by EUK in accordance with CAMO.A.125(d)(3).
* Reliability monitoring of aircraft and components to ensure effectiveness of each type-approved maintenance programme.
* Engine Condition Monitoring of in-service engines to identify and respond to adverse trends promptly.
* Monitor the maintenance forecast to ensure maintenance frequencies are not exceeded.
* Monitor defect lifecycles and control them.
* Ensure work packages produced for EUK by the subcontracted CAMO reflect required scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
* In conjunction with the CAMO team, oversee project planning of outsourced heavy base maintenance by EIN head of contracted maintenance (ScORG).
* Act as a resource for stakeholders seeking to improve IMS performance.
* Undertake activity and projects to support CAMO.A.125(d)(3) within the IMS.
* Assist in developing meaningful process-related compliance, performance and risk metrics for core processes.
* Identify root causes and perform risk analysis of non-conformances to support prioritisation and improvement actions at the process level.
* Coordinate SMS activities on behalf of the Continuing Airworthiness function.
* Ensure timely closure of non-conformances from the compliance monitoring system and actions from the Safety Action Group & Safety Review Board.


Qualifications and key criteria

To be considered for the role of Continuing Airworthiness Engineer, candidates must meet the following:

* Good working knowledge of AMOS and Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
* Part 66 AML, Engineering Degree, or relevant OEM/Industry training.
* 1-year relevant work experience from the aeronautical industry.
* Good interpersonal, written & verbal communication skills, and capable of dealing with people at all levels, both inside & outside the airline.
* Ability to work on own initiative, whilst contributing effectively as part of a team.
* Excellent maintenance planning skills.
* Knowledge of Airbus Technical Documentation.
* Experience in writing technical work instructions and technical reports.
* Experience in interpreting Manufacturers Publications.
* General familiarisation course on the type(s) of aircraft operated.
* CAMO personnel should have adequate knowledge of design information and aircraft configuration, including airworthiness directives (ADs), airworthiness limitations contained in the ICA, modifications, repairs, and operational/equipment considerations, and the status of aircraft configuration and maintenance to support the management system. For CS-25 aircraft, knowledge of airworthiness limitations and fuel tank system issues including CDCCL.
* Demonstrable competency in UK CAA Part CAMO and Part T regulation, Management System principles & Just Culture.
* Eligible to live and work in the UK.
* Hold a current unrestricted worldwide passport.
* Able to pass a strict airport security vetting procedure which includes a 5-year background check or hold a current airport pass for the UK location.
