Job Description Sales Support Administrator Location: Northampton (office-based) Salary: £27,000 – £30,000 per annum Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm) An established, family-owned food manufacturing business based in Northampton is seeking a Sales Support Administrator to join its growing team. With over 40 years of experience supplying retail, wholesale and foodservice sectors, the business is now expanding its sales administration function. This is an excellent opportunity for a positive, organised and professional administrator to support a busy sales office within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Role The Sales Support Administrator will join the sales administration department, supporting administrative, despatch and transport functions to ensure efficient order processing, timely deliveries and high levels of customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Processing customer orders and completing all associated administration Acting as the first point of contact for incoming enquiries by telephone and in person Tracking orders through to despatch and proactively communicating with customers regarding any issues Checking despatch documentation, booking deliveries and preparing transport paperwork Assisting with transport planning and vehicle/driver administration Supporting the preparation of regularly scheduled reports Maintaining electronic and hard-copy filing systems Managing a high-volume workload and prioritising tasks effectively Providing secretarial support to Directors, Managers and Sales staff, including typing correspondence and answering telephones Supporting other departments when required to ensure smooth business operations Candidate Requirements Previous experience in an administrative role Excellent communication skills with strong attention to detail Ability to work accurately and to a high standard, ensuring paperwork is completed securely and correctly Familiarity with office management procedures and basic accounting principles Experience using Sage accounting software is desirable but not essential (training provided) Previous exposure to transport planning would be advantageous but not essential Comfortable working as part of a small team and liaising across departments to deliver an efficient customer service Benefits 28 days annual leave (including bank holidays) Company pension scheme Benefits scheme (launching soon) Free on-site parking
